School Formation

With a vision to create a generation of healthy minds with the element of wisdom & morals connected to the nature the local land lord and businessmen Sri Magunta Kota Reddy S/o Kodandarami Reddy a native of Komarika Village of Indukurpet Mandal, SPSR Nellore District  planned for an establishment of a model educational institution  at Indukurpet village and shared his views with likeminded native people like Magunta Kodandarami Reddy, Yerramreddy Balakrishna Reddy, Gunupati Subbarami Reddy and Paturu Audinarayanaiah and initiated steps for establishment of new educational institution.

In the said process Magunta Kota Reddy taken the prime responsibility for the coordination of educational facilities and for the maintenance of appropriate standards towards his good efforts on his part he placed an amount of Rs.35,000/- as corpus fund and paved way for establishment of his ideal educational institution at Indukurpet. It is pertinent to note that at the good golden days one acre of land costs Rs.200/- only. This itself is an ample proof for his commitment for creation of generation with healthy minds.

Inspired by the contribution of Rs.35,000/- by Sri Magunta Kota Reddy, in the footpath shown by him, Sri Y.B. Reddy, Amara Lakshmana Gupta, Paturu Ramabadraiah and others donated an extent of Ac.7.78 cents of land for construction of new School building and for the usage of Playground.

 In order to have a better and transparent administration of the Educational Institution Magunta Kota Reddy constituted a committee in the name of Magunta Kota Reddy High School Committee and the same was registered as Regd. No: 12 of 1952  dated 5th July 1952 on the file of the District Registrar, Nellore.

The first committee was constituted with Sri Magunta Kota Reddy as Patron, Kukati Kodandarama Reddy as President, Sri Yerramreddy Balakrishna Reddy as Secretary, Sri Gunupati Subbarama Reddy as Treasurer, Sri Paturu Audinarayanaiah as Assistant Secretary, 1) Sri Gunupati Venkata Ramana Reddy, 2) Sri Gurajala Venkaiah Choudary, 3) Sri Jonnalagadda Venkama Naidu, 4) Sri. Bezawada Gopal Reddy, 5) Sri Marupuru Kodandarama Reddy, 6) Sri Ponnaluru Kota Reddy, 7) Sri Vangallu Kodandarama Reddy and 7) Duvvuru Balarama Reddy as Members.

Main Building and additional Infrastructure

One can imagine the hurdles in creation of infrastructure for a new educational institution. With a team of service-oriented people, he was able to overcome the initial hurdles and with the permission of Government of A.P., started a school in the year 1952 initially with 6th standard which is named after him as Magunta Kota Reddy High School familiarly known as MKR High School and upgraded the classes from time to time.

 With the good efforts of the MKR High School Committee under the chair of Magunta Kota Reddy and Yerramreddy Balakrishna Reddy, in the year 1954 the then  Chairman, Gudur Municipality , Nellore District Sri Pasupuleti Siddaiah contributed his own funds for the construction of  a new building in the site owned by the MKR High School Committee accommodating, class rooms, Head Master room, Office Room and Library.

With the strong commitment of the Committee headed by Magunta Kota Reddy and Yerram Reddy BalaKrishna Reddy (Y B Reddy), in the year 1955 they were able to lay foundation by Andhra Chief Minister Bezawada Gopal Reddy for construction of Main School building. The School management conducted charity programs and collected donations from the public and built the Main School Building with ground and first floor.

Foundation Stone: laid by

Foundation stone was laid by Sri Bezawada Gopala Reddy, Honorable Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh on June 13th, 1955.

School Logo

Under the guidance of Sri Vasudeva sarma sir, drawing teacher Sri Dasaratha Ramaiah garu designed the logo of the school. We can see it on the top of front side of the school building. The sanskrit sloka in it was selected by Sri Vasudeva Sarma sir.
